		<description>I work with clients both in gyms and in in their homes.  Both can work if you set yourself up right.  But more importantly, both have positives and negatives that need to be aligned with your personality and with your lifestyle.

People who have specific goals (beyond &quot;being fit&quot;) tend to do well at home.  Training for a sport or to slim down for a specific event keeps them focused.

People who have &quot;someone&quot; to report back to often do well at home.  This can be a trainer, a group of friends or an online support group.

People who are extremely busy and still put an emphasis on home life generally end up doing better at home.  A little exercise squeezed in here and there is better than an unused gym membership.  Amazingly, as to your first point, buying a gym membership seems to have little to do with actually using it for many people...

Others have tried and failed to set up an at-home training regiment, and should look to a gym membership for all the reasons you explore.
