How to Eat Healthy on the Cheap

As you are probably aware, I’m also writing for the moderately successful, Lazy Man and Money. This means that I do a lot of thinking about where I allocate my money. On one hand Mac and Cheese and Ramen are really wallet friendly, but they don’t do much for your healthy. Free-range meats and organic vegetables are great for your health, but not very nice on your wallet. For this reason, I try to strike a balance and only hit either extreme on rare occasions.

Towards that end, I ran into this forum thread, which has a ton of advice. I personally like Michelina’s Lean Gourmet line. I can usually find them for $1 a piece. They don’t have a lot of calories, so you might find yourself going through one every 3 hours or so. I think that’s a good thing. Eating lots of small meals throughout the day are better than a couple of big meals.

Soup. I like to buy Chunky soup on sale. The Beef with Vegetable is 260 cals per can. That’s two servings. I can eat one at around 11 and another at around 3, and then I’m cool. Weight loss rocks!
