Hotels Are No Good For Exercise

If you’ve been wondering where I am lately, I haven’t been extra Lazy. I’ve been on a vacation in Boston. It hasn’t been much of a vacation as the stress of seeing family and friends and getting things done isn’t as relaxing as I hoped. As far as this blog goes, I have three things working against me when it comes to keeping it updated.

  • Limited Internet - There’s been very limited Internet availability on my trip. I typed this into a text editor and upload it when I get a chance.
  • Bad Food Choices - We haven’t been back to Boston since my wife and I got married in last July. This means that we’ve been without Kelly’s Roast Beef, D’Angelo’s Number Nines, Papa Gino’s Papa Platters, Brigham’s Dice Kream, etc. Living out of a hotel doesn’t do you any favors when trying to eat healthy.
  • Lack of Exercise - Though we have fantastic gym facilities available to us, we simply haven’t had time to partake of them. We had 15 minutes yesterday to tour the facilities and that might be as far as we get.

In the next few days, I will try to post some guest articles that I have. This weekend, after we get home, I can work to getting back on schedule.

Yes, travel and hotel life can reek havoc on a fitness program. I deal with this constantly. Things I’ve done to help:
    - Talk more at dinner and eat less (by eating slower we fill up before we’ve eaten 10 servings).
    - Walk around the hotel. Even if it is for just five or ten minutes, rather than watching CNN or ESPN, just go for a walk around the property.

I think Im not the norm for loving travel and the SHOCK to my workout it is.

Im forced to break outta my recum.bike rut and use whatever machines they have in the dinky exercise room :)

that said, Im also one to get up as early as I need to to have some ME TIME before the MEeting time starts.

You’re on vacation, and focusing on a healthy lifestyle isn’t always easy. Especially when surrounded by all the stuff you’ve denied yourself. Do the best you can, and get back on track when you return!
