Some Tips to Eat More Fruit

J.D. at Get Fit Slowly has published his first food hack. The hack is to cut up food, it makes it easier to graze. In his case, it worked to get him to eat an apple. The great thing about cutting up an apple is that you have to eat it or else it will go bad. We have a apple slicer/divider and it’s helped me eat at least 3 apples a week. That’s up from my zero apples a week before we had it. I believe it works for pears as well. I imagine it might, but I’ve only used it for apples.

I used to stay away from oranges - peeling them became a chore that I didn’t want to deal with. However, we recently got a citrus peeler and now I eat a couple of oranges a week. It’s not enough fruit, but I’ll take any improvement over my earlier habits.

    I’ve been using fresh fruit and low-fat yogurt to make smoothies. That’s the only way I can get enough fruit down every day!
