I'd think it would be tough to have any appreciable effects in 2 days a week. You would really have to be busting it those two days, as well as having a diet that was perfect all the time. I'd try doing some exercises while at home, or coming in and doing your own workouts the other days. Time to re-prioritize!

I agree with some of the posts above. When you're not in the gym, doing some of the suggested bodyweight exercises is the way to go. Do you brush your teeth everyday? Do you shower? If so, doesn't it make sense to exercise everyday, even if only for a little bit? If you want to get better at anything, doing a little everyday always beats a couple of times a week. Slow and steady wins the race!

It all depends on what you mean by "get in shape"? If you want to lose weight, sure you can by working out only two days a week, but your diet must be spot on. I have an idea for you that's so simple, you'll probably won't think that it's really doing anything. How about doing 50 jumping jacks and 25 pushups on the days that you don't workout. The cool thing is that you can break them up over the day if you wish. These two exercises are simple, effective, and will cause you to lose more fat than simply working out twice a week. Just make sure that your diet is in check though ...

Depending on how intense the sessions are, and your current conditioning, two sessions per week are probably "enough" but not "optimal."

The trick is finding something to do on Monday that is fun and that you look forward to. One of the best "turn-key" and at-home routines I have seen for this is a program called FlowFit. It is sold as a DVD, but it can also be tried out for free. I've got a tutorial of one of the four levels of difficulty that I provide for my newsletter subscribers. To be honest, you could probably get by for a long time on the free version before getting anywhere close to bored.

You can do FlowFit or any other bodyweight program at home. Or, as you said, you could hit the gym for an extra session on Monday's. But you could make it more interesting and more efficient by doing it Alwyn Cosgrove style (a Google search should get you going in the right direction if you aren't familiar with his approach).

Cheers,
Adam

I’m pretty sure you can drop the weight by exercising 2 times a week, but you will have to monitor what you eat
